Resolutions for the New Year

Normally, I’m not a big fan of New Year’s Resolutions, because like just about everyone, I never keep them.

But coming off the feeling of success from the weight loss plan I started a little over three months, I’ve decided to put some goals for ‘05 up here. Hopefully the 3 people who read this site will help keep me in line when I inevitably stray. So here they are, in no particular order, my New Year’s Resolutions for 2005:

  • Continue losing weight and getting in shape: I’ve lost almost 20 pounds since Sept 23, and now I’d like to continue the trend. Rather than focusing on weight loss, I’m going to be looking at improving my body fat percentage instead. Exact goals TBD.
  • Stay on top of deadlines: I need to get better about not procrastinating so badly. No more late bills, no more putting off maintenence on my car, etc.
  • Budget:I want to bring the same daily tracking that I’ve been using successfully for my diet to my finances. That means I need a system that tracks every change, but doesn’t become too much of an overhead. Ideas for how to accomplish this one are welcome.
  • Cook more and eat better: given all the food-related stuff I’ve been reading lately, it would be a shame if I don’t put all this new knowledge and enthusiasm into practice.
