The structure of this song is unique, giving us a couple of verses before gaining momentum and shifting into a semi-chorus, and finally erupting in a coda (lasting half the length of the song, mind you) that is more triumphant and powerful than any finale since “Hey, Jude.” It’s rousing and exciting and everything a really great pop song should be, and if it doesn’t have you tapping your toes or humming along at some point, then you really must be dead.
